Exercise and overcoming nausea help.

Very briefly, I'm an unfit person (main exercise up till now is dog walking and Pilates.) I used to do some running (5K) but stopped due to a knee injury. Generally went early morning and never had a problem.
I work full time. Routine is get home. Walk the dog. Go to class. Eat when I get back.
The last couple of Pilates classes were run by someone who's more into bums and tums type exercises and I started to feel sick when doing the crunches. Went to circuit training this week and had to stop because I nearly threw up - again triggered by sit ups.
I'm wondering if this could be a low blood sugar issue? I used to faint when I was younger if I didn't eat enough. And although I do get a lunch break at work, the timing is quite random due to the nature if the job. And I know I don't drink enough and often get home a bit dehydrated.
Your thoughts? And what can I grab to eat on the go when I get home that might help keep me going. Timewise having a full meal before I get to class isn't going to happen.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I usually have a banana a couple of hours before classes to keep me going and that works fine. I wouldn't eat within an hour of a class though. And you need water before and during vigorous exercise.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0

I go in the mornings. I have a banana, some apple and cinammon cereal and a small glass of juice. That's about an hour and a quarter before the classes.
Have you spoken to the class teacher and asked their advice?. That's what. I do. I have problems with arthritis, sciatica etc and they give me a lower level option for certain exercises that cause me pain/problems.
And definitely lots of water as pandora205 says.0 -
What kind of circuit training did you do? If it's a tough routine you'd surely feel something like that. I suggest you check you blood chem to be sure. I think it's the best way to check your health.0

Third shout for a banana pre training.
Good call.0 -

They're a temporary stand in. And as the response to me going pale and nearly keeling over was to advise that they don't have any medical training I'm waiting for the regular person to come back before asking. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Yep.
That's sensible and what I would do. Is it the same teacher for Pilates and circuits. As Jamie Kate said circuits (especially if you are a bit low on fitness and they are tough) could well cause that.0 -
I returned to the gym last year following a knee ligament tear accident the previous year that had seen me out of action for a long time (beyond physio exercises). I had put on a lot of weight too, so lost a stone before I started regular exercising. Then I followed a gentle gym regime for about a month before gradually introducing classes, such as yoga and Body Pump, and even then I used very light weights - and it's still a work in progress (though I now do zumba and other dance classes too).somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0

Do you have a high caffeine intake? I've taken pre workouts in the past before doing weight training and it's made me feel like that. I always drink loads of water while I'm training now and eat something before hand, I feel like it's the way to go.0
