UK Car Insurance in NI

Hi folks
Looking at car insurance and I have got some quotes on Go Compare but do these UK based car insurers (Hastings, Churchill, AA, etc) cover you properly in NI?
I live in Fermanagh so need to cross the border all the time so will their policies cover that?

Direct Line certainly do - I contacted them before going to NI and they confirmed I have the same comp. cover across the border as here in mainland UK and NI.

I'm not sure there's any difference in the insurance coverage between the mainland and NI. It's true that a lot of insurers only cover the minimum requirements when you go out of the UK, so that's something to consider...
I saw an old Telegraph article which suggested that some insurers (M&S was given as an example) maintain your cover abroad. I guess it's wise to check the small print on all of them.

Just looked at Direct Line's current policy document online:

This policy provides the cover described in your schedule in Great
Britain, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man, the
Channel Islands and during journeys between these places.

I have noticed on some insurance in the small print, if you are a Northern Resident, you have full cover in RoI.
(Same for Breakdown services)
Although, one I have noticed before is even though I have fully comp cover and the cover to drive any car third party, this third party does not extend cross border

I had insurance with LV .The policy never mentioned driving in ROI ,but they assured me I was covered .

Nearly every company will cover you for a maximum 30 consecutive days in ROI

As a side note, I have a lease car, and I needed a special letter from them assuring me and letting them know I drive across the border at intervals, worth asking the question!

My policy is up for renewal with AXANI but when I was getting quoted for next year and mentioned I was moving to England in the next few weeks they said I would have to cancel my policy (£40 charge) and find another insurer in England.
So I would like to find an insurer who covers me in NI and also will still cover me when I move to England.
Any thoughts.

Almost any of them? Direct line was mentioned... John Lewis also would work...
