Ive just been looking at our SOA doing OK, we try and get our essentials needs down to my basic wage and we are currently -125 or + 135 if I take the lads keep into consideration.
Due to our life insurance being loaded we decided to forgo income protection insurance so we both can afford to die but not get sick so keep our needs within my wage as the lower earner as a just in case.
Finally set up the online banking for the mortgage this will make it easier for me to make little overpayments across the month where I can. 6 days to payday we knocked 3 years off the mortgage term just rounding up our payment but that still puts me in my 60s when it finishes and I plan to be sat back with feet up at that point0 -
well paid day for me
I forgot the 25th was a Sunday so made for a nice surprise.
I've shifted £1500 into a spare saver this will be my first big overpayment at the end of December, I decided as this much will keep us on a tightish budget and wanted to make sure I wouldn't find myself breaking into the emergency fund so I will pay at the end of the month on payday, if I alway hold the money for a month I will have the option of reducing the payment if needed.
This amount will take us over our 10% so will set up another regular saver next year and feed into that at the same time.0
