Is this something best left in a solicitors hands or can it be done yourself?
I`ve been quoted in the region of £500 with a couple of local solicitors.
I need to take one name off the house deeds and substitute with another.

Don't bother doing it yourself. There could be SDLT issues depending on who's involved in the transfer. Talk to a solicitor.0
