Pastdue Credit Solutions - NPower Debt

Hi
My partner has been sent a letter from Pastdue Credit Solutions dates 16th March, there is a 'customer ID', 'Client Account Number' and says they have been appointed by npower limited and an account balance of £330.13 for supply period of 03/12/11 - 11/04/2013.
The letter says we are still to pay the outstanding debt and they may recommend their client to make a claim against him in court and to avoid further charges to pay the balance by 26/03/2018.
Firstly this is the first letter we have recieved although the letter seems to suggest that a previous one has been sent, there are no details of the address at which the debt is owed. We moved into our house in May 2017 and have always been with British Gas. Previous to this he was living in a flat that had prepaid meters, and always had. The supplier was changed once or twice during the 8 years he was there but cant remember who was the supplier at what time.
I am just looking for some advice on how to tackle this? I have read a couple of other threads offering advice but circumstances are slightly different. Do we acknowlege that we have recieved this letter? Do we contact npower or PDCS? Are we right to ask for proof of the debt?
I'm sorry if all this has already been answered in other posts its just really left me shaken with the thread of them suggesting legal actions.

Hi kjetson74
