Beginning my journey...

I had a look at NUS but didn't fancy what was on offer. Have joined UniDays though, some pretty decent savings to be had on there
Face to Face enrolment is tomorrow afternoon - nerves have hugely kicked in, and now wondering what on earth I've let myself in for. I'm not good with new and new people so am very nervous. Once I get into a routine I'll be fine but until then...
Creditors seem to have accepted the change in DMP provider with no worries which has also eased my mind too.0 -
Enrollment done! Felt so old! Out of 16 of us, only 2 of us were over 30, everyone else fresh out of college (and spent the break comparing what clubs they were banned from - literally cannot remember when I last went into a club, at least 12yrs  )
Got my reading list... Jeez I hope the library is good! Essential books total over £140  Managed to get a couple of them with some Amazon vouchers from Shop and Scan but can't afford to buy the rest. Going to the uni library next week so will have a look then (course is ran at the local college but we're taught under a uni which is about 10miles away!)
Daunted by the assignment list but at least it'll keep my mind occupied! :j0 -
If you can't find texts in your uni library, remember inter library loan is an option
. Your library may make a charge for this but it shoild only be around £15. Also depending on your subject you may find joining another library is worth it - check out your books on COPAC or Worldcat to find other copies.
Oh and sign up for your library induction. If they don't do one ask to go in and speak with your student/subject librarian. Check out any ebook options as well as hard copy. Us librarians are a helpful bunch and will help you find the resources you need.

Hi,
I would still get your NUS card as a lot of "Student Discount" offers don't apply unless you have one...BUGGRITMILLENIUMHANDANDSHRIMP I TOLD EM! - Foul Ole Ron
It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

My uni library, as it turns out, is freaking amazing!! Every book imaginable, and getting to grips with loan times etc. So far very very impressed, and planning to spend a couple of Saturdays a month there working. Uni days gets me a 40% train ticket discount, so that'll reduce train fare each time to around £3 return and my local station is walkable.
I'm classed as a dual student as I'm a uni student but completing the course through my local college - this makes inter loans free if filling out the relevant forms. Teesside university is ticking all boxes so far for me!
Workload is starting to kick in though, but loving keeping the brain working. As lazy as I can be, I do like a challenge!
In terms of my debt, had a minor victory today. Two debtors were Pounds to Pocket and My Stride. Apparently theyve merged the companies and as a result my P2P loan has been written off as a goodwill gesture. Only £390, but something to tick off the DMP! Needless to say I let PayPlan know this morning with joy! Every little victory helps, no matter how unexpected.0 -

Christmas present victory this evening...
Had £6.83 voucher in my Amazon account thanks to TopCashBack cashing out!! Sylvanian Families Town is currently on offer on Amazon thanks to the Argos 3 for 2 price matching! Daughter is after the Gelato and Restaurant for Christmas - Gelato reduced from £25 to £18 so after voucher only £12.83! And free delivery thanks to Amazon Student Prime! She also wants Harry Potter books.... My Shop And Scan Screenwise annual bonus kicks in this month so will more or less pay for the rest! Hurrah!0 -
Well done on the Christmas present victories - nice to know you are getting her what she wants at an affordable rate and nice and early too!
Hope the Uni course is going well and everything is ticking along with the DMP.

Thanks Spendy!!! DD is now sorted for Christmas - got my Shop and Scan bonus and got her a great Lego Friends set reduced from £60 to £40 so that's her big present sorted, as my Mum ended up the Sylvanian Restaurant instead! Husband bought her the DS game she wanted (she asked for it last year but I couldn't afford it at the time, so she asked for it again as Santa "forgot" it so Husband gave in and got her it!)
University going well, although brain boggling and hard work. Enjoying it though. DMP ticking away nicely now, letters have settled down again and all seems good.
Husband has got a new job too. Slightly more money, way better working hours (his current shifts mean we barely see each other) and better pension. And for the first time in 9 years, he will have the week off at Christmas with me and DD so definitely a winner (at his current job he was down to work Christmas Eve, Day and Boxing Day!).
Banks wise... I've just completed an application to switch from TSB to Natwest. Whilst I have had not much of the online difficulties with TSB they have sent me 3 new bank cards in as many months. Sick to death of it. Applied for the NatWest Select account which has the £125 switching bonus on - didn't expect to get accepted but did! Bye bye TSB! :T:T:T0 -
All sounds like brilliant news... everything going in the right direction. :jI Believe.....

Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
