Hi everyone!!
Getting very excited about Christmas and know I am among frineds here!!
I know it has been mentioned on this board before but just wanted to remind everyone that http://organizedchristmas.com/ started their Christmas Countdown yesterday.
I am going to try it out as this is my first Christmas at home so thought it might just give me ideas/prompts that otherwise I might forget!
It is an American site so not all things may be applicable (eg talking about Thanksgiving, which I don't celebrate) but you can take the bits you want and leave the rest.
It's only day 2 of the countdown so easy to join in.
Is anyone else doing this??
Anyone done it before??
Would love to know what people think as it's all new to me!!
Thanks everyone and Happy Christmas!

I'm gonna have a bash at the Christmas Countdown with you furrypig
I'm gonna do days 1-3 today so I'm all caught up, and will try and post with my progress everyday (although I am pretty pants at this - I'm just coming to the end of 30 day DFW flylady challenge and although I've stuck to the challenge I haven't posted updates)

Ok my progress so far!
I have printed off several printables from the site that I will find useful. I don't need the monthly calendar ones as I have a big family calendar that everything gets written in for everyone!
I have bought 100 second class stamps, already have my cards from Jan sales of course! Have got a folder together with 'master gift lists' in already (have been buying pressies for a while). Have cleared all the rubbish off the dining room table and this is going to be my Christmas holiday planning centre!
I'm cutting and pasting ideas, recipes, crafts etc I like. Thought the candy cane cookies look lovely and the list of cheap things to do with the kids had some great ideas that I will be trying out this year!
So that's me so far!
How are you guys doing??
Ps in the candy cane recipe it lists 'shortening' as one of the ingredients what is it??0 -
i believe shortening is lard, but im not 100% if you mosey over to old style, there was a thread about what all the american cooking terms mean, or what the uk equivilent of strange ingredients are.
as for organizedhome - all the printables on the main site will still be available after january. its the info on the forums that you need to worry about.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
On the week 1 tick list all I have left to do is buy a book of 6 stamps, write 3 addresses on cards and sit and wait for next week. I am going to make my Christmas reindeer flannels too this week!
Ok so I have:
*Made my xmas cards
*Written my xmas cards
*Printed off December calendar
*Bought the bitty presents & researching the price of the large ones
*eBayed to within an inch of my life to offset the cost of xmas
*Made my mint sweety box for my dad
I still have loads to do - the bitty jobs like printing off labels and making small gifts but according to organised christmas - im in relatively good shape!

45p for 2 soaps,
12p for pipe cleaners
5p for eyes
3p for pom pom nose
30p for flannel
10p for ribbon
10p for bells
total - c. £1 ish
except i had everything
but the soap and flannels so cost me next to nothing. cost effective if you make in bulk!
