American Golf gift cards check expiry

A word of warning to anyone buying American Golf gift cards they do not have the expiry date on the card and when as I did go into the store to check when the card did expire I was told March 2018 so when I went to spend the card on March 8th I was told it had expired on March 2nd 6 days earlier. Contacted customer services where I had no goodwill at all and they hid behind T&Cs nothing they could do. Emailed CEO no reply.
I had £190 on this card and they have kept it. So check expiry date because they won’t extend and they will keep your money.
