Inchcape
Hello
I'm looking for advice, please.
In 2008 I took out a car loan on a second hand car with Inchcape. They had my car as deposit and I also gave them an additional £500.00.
I was 6 months pregnant, (and needed a larger car) so my head was all over the place and I trusted that the finance would be correct. Once it was all done, the paperwork was filed away, until now.
I was looking for documents for old loans etc with PPI, and I came across my document, and I could instantly see that they hadn't deducted my £500.00 from the cost of the car.
In essence, my car loan was for £500.00 more than it needed to be.
I contacted Inchcape and they said that they couldn't look into it, as it was more than 6 years after the event. So I took it to the Ombudsman - who basically said the same. They also said that I should have reasonably known about this error. Why would I, as far as I was concerned all was correct, and I had filed the documents - I had no need to refer back to them.
I am annoyed, as that money was for the purpose of reducing my loan, and Inchcape didn't do that. They kept my money and left me out of pocket, when at that point of time, £500.00 would have come in handy to purchase essential baby items.
Is there anyone else that I can go to to try and get my money back?
Thank you
