Macros

Anyone know a great fitness book that talks in depth about macros and how to calculate them

  • I could use something like this, I've been following a carb cycling diet I found online to cut fat but it's so draining.. it makes your workouts suffer. I'm after a different angle on it now.

    I found this to be a good online calculator taking your gender, activity levels, goals etc in consideration.

    That actually looks pretty accurate, but your macro split will be a very individual thing. For example, too many carbs make me tired, I react much better to higher fat.

    Start with a 40% (P), 40% (C), 20% (F) split and go from their.. I'm assuming your exercising regularly and if so wouldn't move the protein much, mainly carbs and fat to get you feeling/performing the best.

    If you have a smart phone the Myfitnesspal app is quite good for tracking various macros.
