Hello, I am wondering if you guys can help me I'm posting this for my parents.
My mum is about 50 and her partner is in his 30s.
We have had a mortgage before for over 20 years but we moved out of the old house we were in and had to go into rented accommodation due to a new request for a mortgage been denied off the bank.
Now we have got our finances back on track.
But we just have some questions regarding a mortgage we have been working for over 3 months my mum has her own cleaning business and her partner works in the catering sector.
We were just wondering as my mum's partner is moving jobs but there shouldn't be a period of unemployment between it, it will be straight in that one job and straight in the next. Does the 6 months in a job reset when he moves jobs or does it mean 6 months employment?
Also will been denied a mortgage before majorly effect our chances of getting a new mortgage?
Any advice you guys could give would be great especially regarding the employment and how that goes with moving into a new job.

The partners job will be fine with some lenders.
Your mums job wont be accepted. When you are self employed, you need to have one years accounts/self assessment.
Being declined a Mortgage will not a deal breaker, but it is important to understand why you were declined as that could affect future applications.
My suggestion would be to speak to a broker it sounds like there are a few potential issues and you do not want to be applying to the wrong lenders.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
