All the words apart from "JUNK" I think could/have been used for treasure, So it's possible it should be "What is not another word for treasure?" From the list of words it is the odd one out.

This is now just as wrong as the first question because they have added "pirate slang" as well as "not".
Booty is the only one that is "pirate slang" for treasure. They should have either just added "not" to the original question i.e. "What is not another word for treasure?" Answer junk. OR only added "pirate slang" to the original question i.e. Which word is pirate slang for treasure?. Answer booty.

So now, if you entered with the original question and got the answer wrong, you will still be entered but if you entered after the question has been changed and you got it wrong, you wont be entered.

There are merchant quests and treasure hunting quests in Sea of Thieves, so I would think that they're looking for All of the above.

All of the character selection info I can find talks about selecting your Pirate.

I can find nothing relating to selecting your merchant or treasure hunter.
