They pop out and ping across the room occasionly never to be seen again. Ive not mastered the art of putting them in and out without dropping them .

That's worrying, I'd never let you leave the building with them if you couldn't take them out and put them safely in their case in a consistent manner without dropping them. Who knows what sort of damage they're picking up on a microscopic level and no amount of cleaning would convince me a lens that's been on a toilet floor is clean enough to go back in an eye.

If they're popping out your eye at random you need refitted, probably easier said than done. I know my RGP returns list had a 9 month waiting time before someone else got it, god knows what it's like now!

To be fair to my optometrist, they did make me practice taking them in and out a dozen times before they let me leave.
I have kerataconis and my lenses are the kind that cover the whole pupil rather than just the iris so are tricky sometimes and it's only my right eye that does that flipping out thing. I know my right is is a challange to fit anyway so it may be the best that they can do.

Is it a scleral lens? I used to fit these and they are an absolute pain in the back side. I do wonder if your eye is drying out under the lens and affecting the fit. You could try taking it out half way through the day and sticking in some lubricant drops to see if that helps.

That's the chap. :-) or maybe it's semi scleral? Thanks for the tip. Bizzarely they are actually more comfortable than the smaller ones once they are in right. The main issue is when putting the right one in. I think it's in right, so I close my eye to blink and that flips it out. Usually I feel it go and catch it but every so often I don't.

    But back on topic.....
Contact lenses are not cheap generally. I would always choose glasses , if I could. they are so much easier and practical.

To be fair daily disposables can be as cheap or as expensive as you want them to be. You can buy them when you want them and cost is determined by how often you use them.
