Hi all? I was wondering can 2 help to buy ISA's be used with the bonus if only 1 applicant is appliying for the mortgage? Reason being my partner is looking at the mortgage but I have bad credit so therefore won't be applying for a mortgage with him.
Any help would be great, thank you

Hello, we are in the same situation, I don’t know the actual answer yet I’m afraid, although I am assuming that we won’t be able to use the ISA bonus on my husbands account as he won’t be on the mortgage and so he isn’t really buying the house? He’ll just be an occupant. I don’t know, I could be wrong but I’m thinking it’s safer to assume this way until I know different!
I hope someone on here can enlighten us both

The bonus is for first time buyers, buying a house. If you are not buying a house i.e. taking out a mortgage then you don't get the bonus.Homeowner:j0
