Hi
Just read through...well done on the o/p's.
Did you ever do anything about sky?
We have been with them for over 10 years and never pay more than half price. You have to actually (go to) cancel to get the better deals.
I have just done this again. This time i've actually had to upgrade on the B/Band and to Sky Q. But have TV with Sports, BBand & Phone for £55. Still more than i'd LIKE to pay but OH wants Sky Sports.
Even if they make you cancel, you still give a months notice and they ALWAYS ring you back pretty soon0 -
It may be a good idea to tally up just how much you have paid off in that time to help keep the motivation up, those 38payments will be a lot of money!
I think you are doing amazingly! Those OPs are immense!

Thanks for replying - I still haven't done anything about sky as I worry that I will be the person who ends up getting no deal and having to cancel. Any tips and I will ring them this week and let you know outcome.Year 2019 (1,700/£17000mortgage repayment)Overall mortgage (71,400/165568) (44

Jodles :
Thanks for replying Jodles - When I started the mortgage was about 165K and I said 100 lots of £1700 and the mortgage will be paid off.
I will work out exactly how much I have paid by getting the balance off the letter they send me once I have paid off each £1700.
I think I'm just below the 100K now which was a milestone.
I have been working quite a lot and not spending too much which is good in one way but quite boringYear 2019 (1,700/£17000mortgage repayment)Overall mortgage (71,400/165568) (44

Quick update - total balance left is £95800 another 58 or so payments.
Still seems a lot but got it down from 165K so £69,200 paid off in the last 4/5 years.
Another 8 payments till half way through challenge.
Lets keep goingYear 2019 (1,700/£17000mortgage repayment)Overall mortgage (71,400/165568) (44

That's brilliant. Well done!0

Not posted on this thread for a while.
Not too much to update - made a payment in March so now 43 payments out of 100 made. Not even half way yet!!
It is over 44% of my mortgage paid in the few years that I have been trying.
Only 57 more payments to make of the initial £1,700. So I would hazzard a guess at anywhere between 5 and 8 years to mortgage free date.

It sounds like you're doing great - well done!
I really like your idea of having 100 payments of a fixed amount to make! Is it an interest only mortgage? The maths would be a little more complicated for a repayment mortgage!0 -
Hi yellow - mango
Yes its interest only so it makes the maths a bit easier.
I am also hoping that since I rounded up, i.e the mortgage was £164,400 so 100 * £1700 equals £170,000.
I shouldnt need all the 100 payments.
It is a good way but sometimes you spend the money whilst you are saving towards the £1,700Year 2019 (1,700/£17000mortgage repayment)Overall mortgage (71,400/165568) (44
