Theft of personal belongings by Natwest

As I said above, I think people are barking up the wrong tree about this "on the deeds" point, and the Land Registry wouldn't be able to clarify anything useful. The charge is over the land, and everything which happens to be built on it from time to time - not particular structures. So if you build a garage, it becomes part of the mortgaged property. I'm not sure what made this garage any more "temporary" than other garden sheds etc, but as soon as you call it a "garage" I think it's hard to argue that it's a chattel which objectively would be likely for a borrower to pack up and take with them.
If someone told me that my temporary fixture was on the deeds, I would download those deeds so that I could see for myself if it was there.
I agree that a charge is over the land, but if something is temporary then it won't be on the deeds.
I suspect the estate agent listed the property as including this shelter and it was them that gave the impression it had to be included in the sale to save them re-writing the particulars. The lender wouldn't have the knowledge and repossessions are sold with an air of take what you get rather than detailed knowledge.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Often if something is permanent it isn't anywhere "on the deeds" either! Makes no difference to ownership or mortgages though.
True, but here the OP just needed to refute the statement that it was on the deeds, which would have been easy to do in 5 minutes for £3.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
