Needed to remortgage. Contacted a broker who got a “aip” with Kensington. Submitted full application to broker last week, full application and requested documents sent to Kensington on Monday and received phone call to arrange to value the property 2 days later. Valuer coming Monday - is it a good sign we will get a mortgage offer? Credit history not good but mortgage payments never been missed and had a mortgage for 20 years. Adverse credit due to life changing unexpected circumstances but did a letter explaining to them what had happened.

Hi
I have recently remortgaged with them. Application to offer was about 7 weeks. Valuation was instructed about a week after application. I read they only tend to instruct valuation if they are likely to proceed to offer so hopefully a good thing. They did ask for a tonne more documents and info after valuation instructed tho so don’t think this will be the end of it! Good luck tho0 -
I’ve given them 6 months payslips 3 months bank statements, a copy of the mortgage statement (didn’t ask but sent it anyway) and completed everything they asked. Application and documents were check by underwriting dept with broker before being sent to Kensington. Is there anything else they could ask for? When did they give you solicitors details? Our legal fees are included as part of package
Thanks for replying0 -
Ye I read if they are paying for valuation (as was our case) that’s a god sign when instructed as they don’t tend to do that if they are not likely to lend.
The asked for p60’s, more bank statements, some written clarification for the debts outstanding, home improvement quotes (having work done) proof certain payments had been made to credit cards. Even though evidenced by bank statements etc. But we got there. They used enact who were pretty useless but that wasn’t anything to do with Kensington to be fair to them0 -
Thank you. One last question when did you hear from the solicitors. I!!!8217;m the same I get my legal fees included as well as a valuation0
