If a CCJ is issued after mortgage offer. Will the lender do a final check before completion?
The CCJ is currently being disputed (it was for parking ticket and no letters were sent)
Thanks!

Once it has been issued you have 21 days I think to pay it before it gets applied to your credit report - that is what I have been told but I could be wrong.
But in answer to your question, lenders reserve the right to do additional checks prior to completion. Some are more keen on this than others.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks ACG, the CCJ was added more than 30 days ago , and we are exchanging early next month. We have got a company who are fighting our case.
Really nervous whats going to happen0 -
what chances I have that Halifax will not credit search, if they do, will they pull the offer?
Also, I should ask for exchange/completion the same day so I don't lose my deposit?
Thanks!!0 -
If they see the CCJ, without wanting to add to your worry, it is pretty likely they pull the offer.
If this is a concern of your, then yes I would exchange and complete at the same time.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Yes, they probably will do a final check, and yes, they will very possibly pull the offer, so yes, exchange and complete on the same day.
When you say no letters were sent, do you mean nothing from the court? Did the V5have the right address?0 -
Why not apply for a set aside? I doubt any company fighting this for you will do much other than line their own pockets.
Post on the Parking Tickets forum where this regularly crops up. In fact yeh sticky post that asks Newbies to read it first has a step by step guide to getting a ccj set aside.0 -
Exchanged and completed. Please never lose hope!!!0

I bet that was a nervous couple of days. Its always nice when you get the keys, but I bet it was extra nice this time around.
Hopefully you have a good new local - it is bank holiday and if ever there were a reason to celebrate.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
