I want to see my money online and manage it myself. Still searching :)
When reviewing pension provider (SIPP?) options, also be aware of the charges they levy on UFPLS or draw down, in addition to the ongoing annual platform fee.

Depending on what you are looking to achieve HL can be viewed as being ideal for the job or expensive. In the SIPP market they are at the upper end for ongoing platform charges (0.45%) but, they do not apply this charge on any cash held in the account and also they do not charge for UFPLS / draw down payments (see charges).

Okay so #1 done. Very long phone call with Aegon to script and now withdrawn suitable amount from pension pot. Will be with me in 10 days, so current financial year. Will need to reclaim tax via HMRC. Will do the same again next FY with another Aegon pot as no income and need to drag as much as I can out before SP kicks in for obvious tax reasons. Next in the plan is open a S&S ISA using Vanguard Lifestyle 60 or 80 on either HL or Iweb platforms for this FY. New FY need to move my pots out of Aegon into a more manageable, accessible, web friendly device that may be HL or Iweb where I could place another Vanguard Lifestyle fund in place initially, but as I learn more, may tweak the investments.
This is my plan as a keen to learn finance guy, I know cautious now but having a go and will certainly make mistakes but only with ISA money as I see this as my testbed. Really looking forward to my retired future but need to get a firm grip on my invested money.
Okay, it's cautiousjust testing the water. Does my plan make sense?

I'm curious. If you are planning on using Vanguard funds in an ISA, why not use the Vanguard ISA?

For people who wish to invest in an ISA in Vanguard funds the cheapest percentage platform (as opposed to fixed price) is.... <<drum roll>>...Vanguard.

It is one thing to chose to use a Vanguard fund and quite another to know you will be stuck with only Vanguard funds for ever.

Yes, but in the absence of any information confirming one way or another, is it not valid to ask the question / raise the point?

Thanks for your input and sticking around guys.
After looking at using he Vanguard platform I found this could only hold Vanguard funds.
I want the majority of my ISA to be in a V60 or 80 but want to add a few other bits as I stretch my wings a bit as I learn more investing and managing my money.
I have moved over the past year to becoming quite excited about this rather than extremely apprehensive.
Do you have any other comments/input into when I move all my pension pots away from Aegon into a drawdown SIPP next year why I should not do the same as with my ISA ie a medium risk managed fund with a bit of leeway to add and remove other elements?
I am unsure of the benefit HL provide as a platform with comparatively high charges for the Vanguard 60 over e.g. I-web where I could invest with a lesser cost. Seriously thanks for any comment on this.

I have accounts with both HL & iWeb. They are at the opposite ends of the spectrum in many ways.

HL Advantages in no particular order
Ability to transfer 90% of a funds value into another fund on the same day so avoiding being out of the market.
Very wide range of funds and other investments available compared to iWeb
No charge to transfer between funds
Easier to navigate website with good tools & information
Industry leading levels of customer support. -Never had a problem with iWeb but definitely less slick.
Free to make withdrawals from a sipp in drawdown

    iWeb Advantages
Works out cheaper in most situations
Share dealing fee significantly cheaper than HL
You don't get inundated with junk mail
