Order to attend court for questioning

Didnt want to read and run. I am no expert but when you go to court make sure you take copies of all your bills. letters etc to show what you can afford. If the LL or his sons threats are in the form of texts , emails etc I would take those as well. If you receive anything in writing keep it with notes of when it was received so that they can be shown to the police/ courts etc. In view of all your debts I would also recommend you contact Stepchange or another free advice service. Do not fall for paying for help with your debts.
Finally Good Luck0 -
As others have said: stop communicating with him. Go to court. It's probably a good thing as he won't be able to bully you there. His opinion of your current housing situation is just that: his opinion. It's irrelevant.
And, you might want to post an SOA afterwards so people here can give you advice. It sounds like you need financial advice about more than just this situation, regardless of the outcome of the court case.
Good luck!0 -
I must agree that going to court, properly prepared is the way to go. If you can genuinely only afford £5 a month, then demonstrate that to the court with your income and expenditure details.
Use the court to your advantage here. Once it has made an order that you can comply with, then you will be under no obligation to pay more, regardless of what the old landlord says.0 -
We have just noticed that due to us not attending the first hearing, we are going to have the questioning with the circuit judge....is this bad? Does this change anything?0
