First Class Ticket Refund

Hello,
Due to the bad weather a few weeks ago i was on an extremely overcrowded, packed train from Dewsbury to Manchester Piccadilly. I had purchased a first class ticket, however due to other train being cancelled and delays, there was only one service running per hour- the one in which i had booked on. Due to the overcrowding i had to stand the full train journey in cramped conditions. I am currently in the process of asking for a refund of the first class part of my ticket (happy to pay for my standard price as i still got to my destination, even though it may not have been the most pleasant journey). However transpennie are not agreeing that there was a train at 18:02 on the day that i travelled from Dewsbury and Manchester. After looking this was outside of the normal scheduled trains but that was still the train i was booked on? can anyone help as i keep going round in circles with them as they refuse to believe that i was on a train that planned to leave dewsbury at 18:02 (it was however 10-20mins delayed).
Thank you

There was a train to Manchester due to pass through Dewsbury without stopping at 18:02, it was about 10 minutes late.
Not sure how you could have got on it though - jumping off the platform and grabbing onto the back as it went past doesn't strike me as a first class experience
Ask on https://www.railforums.co.uk - some of the people there have access to the industry timing systems.0 -
When there is disruption it is not unusual for extra stops to be made.0

Exactly! However TPE refuse to believe that this train stopped at Dewsbury regardless of the snow.
Is there a way to get CCTV from stations to prove it stopped there?0 -
When you say you were 'booked on' that train, do you mean you had a reservation for it? That doesn't make sense if it just stopped at Dewsbury as an additional calling point due to the snow.
Do you just mean that it was the train that you happened to get? If so then maybe you should speak to station staff at Dewsbury and see if you can get anyone to confirm that this train did indeed stop there.0
