How long before summons

I know there wouldn't be an exact timeframe but after initial ticket, letter, debt collector letter, solicitors letter etc etc etc how long would you expect to feel 'safe' from a court summons?

They have six years to chase an alleged debt.
But you will never receive a summons. A summons is for criminal cases.
Is this question related to your earlier thread?0 -
Seconded - the answer is NEVER and you might want to edit your thread title!
'Summons' indeed! This isn't the Police. We assume you have a fake PCN from a PPC in England.
Also, the NEWBIES thread post #2 tells you about a single Google search anyone can do, to find the BMPA insight page on any PPC, showing if they are litigious or not. You can see for yourself if suing is likely from your own pet scammers and if it is likely, we still win 99% of the time here, when people stick around for full assistance on the forum, from claim form through to hearing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

you mean an MCOL, for civil county court , not a summons (for magistrates court etc)
6 years in england and wales , 5 years in scotland
its been that way since 19730 -
Isn't a summons vanishingly rare these days anyway? I thought a postal requisition was the more modern approach.0

I think you all know what i'm getting at
thanks for the help, just wondered if there was a timeframe these companies usually act within before they bin it, I know they have 6 years.0 -

Correct wording is essential, especially if it gets to court, that's why we are at pains to get people thinking on these lines from the outset. Nothing personal, but we've seen errors with wording get people into a bit of a tangle.
It really is a 6 year timebomb ticking. There have been a couple of threads over the past few days where BW Legal (on behalf of Excel/VCS) have issued claims just before the 6 year deadline and one case just after. Mopping up strategy before the Limitation Act kicks in. Both need to be dealt with fully. Hassle and stress.
These are obviously cases from 2012 - there's no way of accurately forecasting what will happen to your case between now and 2024 - long time into the future. Much can happen. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for alleged breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They nearly always lose, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
