Charge against Mortgage 32 years ago. HELP PLEASE

Can anyone PLEASE help us with some advice.......
My partner and I are supposed to be going to TOLATA against his ex. The problem is there was a charge put on the house for a loan from Barclays Bank 32 years ago.
We have no details on that charge that we need, as obviously it has to be paid off. We went to Barclays and they gave us an address (no phone numbers or e.mail address) back in December a registered signed for letter asking for all the details. That was back in November. Our solicitor then wrote for the same info in !st week of January.
Barclays have totally ignored all communication.
Can anyone tell us where we can go from here, as unless we have details, we cannot continue with Tolata and we have spent so much money so far. We need to get this sorted or will find ourselves on the street in 6 months.
