Hi, I'm 22 weeks pregnant and really, really, really want a hot pudding right now! We dont normally have puddings - so dont really know what to cook. Just want something quick, easy, sweet and simple! Not asking much am I? We dont like hot fruit - but anything else goes - have all basic store cupboard ingredients - please wet my appetite!:rotfl:

Hi there a quick micro sponge any good? not as nice as steamed..but a great quickie...
2oz butter
2 oz sugar
2oz sr flour
1 egg
throw it in the mixer..turn on and blitz...
get a decent sized pudding dish put some jam/syrup in the bottom..dollop sponge mix on top, cover with cling film and nuke in the micro.. 2 mins to start with, then another couple if it needs it ...keep an eye on it as they can take over the dish
you can easily double this - throw in a spoon of cocoa etc.. if the mix seems a bit to stiff add a drop of milk....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Toffee pud
Cut a thick slice of white bread into cubes and soak in warm milk for a minute or two.
Melt together a tbsp of butter, 2 tbsp of golden syrup and tbsp of demerara sugar.
Put soaked bread in a bowl and pour over syrup mixture.
Eat with a big spoon and a big grin0 -
