I have a morphy richards one and it cooks for 4-6 hours and then keeps warm for another few hours and then turns off.. probably for the best or the food would be mush! It is great for me because I'm an idiot and would otherwise forget to turn it off before bed.. I don't even know if it is possible to change it in the settings.

If she turns it on at 7:30.. what time do you get home to eat? Could it be that it only keeps warm for a set number of hours?

Use a timer plug in the wall socket, that's what I do.
  • Just wanted to resurrect this thread, as I used a timer with my slow cooker yesterday and wanted to share.
My small slow cooker is 'fast', so I tend to use my larger, older, more predictable one.But I had 200g of beef shin and wanted to make the chilli recipe that I posted.
So I put it all in the slow cooker at 8am, set the timer to come on to auto at 1pm. Got in at 7pm - perfectly cooked.
