Land Registry AP1 form help

I have purchased a bit of land next to my house. Without going into detail I wasn't given the choice to use a solicitor, however now everything has gone through the solicitor from the other party has told me I need to complete and AP1 form.
I have read that I can complete this myself but having never done this before I have to admit that it looks daunting.
Is this actually easier than it looks or should I be seeking a conveyancing solicitor. I don't mind either way but are fully aware I've gone past the point where I should be appointed a solicitor.
