Morning everyone,
Sorry to hear the sad news about Prof S Hawking, a true genius in our time, RIP.
Dry and bright here in East Anglia, need to be out and about soon as our lovely farrier is due at the yard to do Lu’s feet. He is a smashing chap, very down to earth even though he does a lot of work for the big racing stables, and treats my girlie no different from one of the million pound jobs
Other than that the WM is on and it can all go outside to dry, have also taken pork loin steaks out of the freezer for tea, not sure what with, we’ll see.
Many congrats to Simon Jackie.
Hope Mr TA feels up to the excursion out.
Feel better soon wishes to Speky and all other poorlies, special wishes for dear Holly.
Have a good day folks x0 -
Good Morning chums and a beautiful sunny start to the day and a forecast of a tropical 13c
I know the papers keep saying the winter is not over yet ,so I enjoy the odd day when we see the sun and just to have a stroll in the fresh air this morning and maybe see how the sudden burst of warmth will make the bulbs open will be great.
This afternoon I have a committee meeting at u3A so I have quite a bit to do before I go there. No shopping though I shall do my food shopping tomorrow.
Only a couple of weeks and it will be Easter and the clocks changing will brighten us all up I hope.( I am looking forward to my ginger nut biscuits if nothing else at the end of Lent)
Hope we have some cheering news about Holly H and that she too will soon rejoin our happy band. Thanks everyone for your good wishes regarding my son-in-law Simon. I am still beaming with pride for him, shame his own Mother isn't as pleased Her response was 'Huh, a bit daft at his age to be bothering ' Bless him he took over her job at 17 when she decided she was leaving to take up with her B/F leaving a 13,15 and 17 year old to fend for themselves with his Dad. No wonder our Si is such a great Dad to his brood. He virtually looked after his own siblings until he married my DD.
Sad to hear about Stephen Hawkins, what an amazing man and how nothing had stopped him achieving his dreams.
Right time to get the kettle on and sort out some paperwork.
Have a good day everyone, and I hope the sun shines down on you all where ever you may be

Good morning chums,
Red sky this morning, dry and not too chilly.
Yesterday evening wasn't very exciting. I had an early night, slept right through, but still felt sluggish when I woke. Forced myself up, necked a coffee and went to the gym. Usual Wednesday night for me as I'll be playing football.
Oh, and for the dog lovers. My mum has decided to let her !!!!! golden retriever have pups. A family friend, who has a male with an excellent pedigree, visited yesterday. All very exciting. I promise to get some pictures up when they arrive!
Jackie - Let Simon be a metaphor for life. The sunshine always comes after the rain. Despite a bad start to 2018, there's 9 months still to go. Grab them by the neck and squeeze them for all the joy that's there, like I know you can.
AoD - Sticky brownies sound perfect!!!
TA - I hope Mr TA feels a bit better today and you manage to have a nice evening.0 -
Morning all,
its a$$ kicking day today, had my meters read on Monday and despite being £140 in credit they want to increase the direct debit £20 a month. Their mentality must be "better in our pocket than hers" well they can go and sod off!
Grump hasnt gone into work today, he is sitting in his digs. His digs cost him £200 a week and he has only done half a days work up to now. I told him Sunday night he wasnt well enough to go....He's hanging on because he wants to go to Pembroke castle on Friday...i hope he is well enough.
He's booked 4 days in the van next week....he says we are going if it kills him. Probably will as well. Oh why does he never listen to me!
Nmlc i hope your washer gets sorted soon. I'm lost without mine.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Hoping that we get good news re Holly soon.
Yesterday was bright and sunny, OH said it was quite warm in the shed, he was out for an hour in the morning potting stuff up. Its another bright morning, I have the towels in the washer, they should dry outside.
OH has an appointment this afternoon to get his eye measured for his lens. I am not looking forward to him having the op, its under local anesthetic so we should not have problems coming round.......
Liver and sausage for supper will prep the veg this morning, and cook the sausage, the liver had been defrosting in the fridge overnight.0 -
Very shaken by a phone call this morning from a lady asking if my husband could value some clocks belonging to her late Uncle. My husband was an antique clock and watch maker and had done some work for him. I had to explain that my DH had died nearly 2 years ago. left me feeling very tearful. Good thing I am out today.
Jackie, many congrats to your SIL, nice to have some happy news.
TA hope your hubby has a better day0 -
Hugs Poppy, how upsetting for you.Chin up, Titus out.0

Morning buddies
Sorry for not updating yesterday ....day managed to run away with me. So after the good news on Mon Holly was down agaoin yesterday. She is only sleeping 3 hours which cant help her recovery. Unfortunately we seem to be back the crazy decisions being made by her carers. she needs her meds changed but check this out the need her to wean off her current meds for 2 weeks so they will not let her home during this time which is awful for her but I can kind of of understand this. What I cant understand is this bit...the trust that they have taken her to do not provide her current meds on the NHS so they have said she must get her visitors (she's had none yet) to bring her meds from home :mad: she is 5 days off now so is very worried she will start to become unwell soon. If she wasn't at the other end of the country I would be there like a shot and am thinking if that is going to be possible how can the logical solution of moving her back to her home trust so that they can do the wean off not be the obvious solution?? this postcode lottery has shocked me it really has.
On a positive the solicitor is going in today so fingers crossed all for some positive action.
sorry for the essay
Going to grab some lunch then its an afternoon of work for 1 new contract and a pitch for a phone interview tomorrow...at least I don't need to video my ugly mug this time
Liver bacon and onions tonight which Ill have with some mash. The cutting down sugar is working ...2lb lost so far which Im really pleased with as I am eating everything else normally.
poppy sorry for your upset
jackie more great family newsgood for Simon
aod hope the dentist goes OK
hope Mr TA is OK for the show
Judi well done for sorting em outI imagine they wont cross you again:D

Nelski that's very worrying; having personally had the experience of changing anti-d meds, and the awful, awful time I had weaning off one, getting it completely out of my system, and then starting the new one; the last time they tried it with me, they tapered one off whilst at the same time tapering the new on one (they had to then reverse the process as the new one didn't suit me at all, but that's another tale). I can only add my best hopes for poor Holly; it sounds as if the treatment regime is a shambles, from what you've said.
That's sad news about Stephen Hawking - as usual, I found it out from reading this thread; I deliberately don't keep up with "The News" as I find 99% of it too depressing.
Poppy (((HUGS))) that must've really shaken your equilibrium.
Speky I shall expect regular "pupdates" on how Mama Dog is getting on.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
