moneyextra site - irresponsible?

A few months ago I used the moneyextra mortgage checker service to see what sort of mortgage products were out there.
Normally it would take your annual income into account. If you didn't earn enough to cover the mortgage, it wouldn't bring up any results.
In the last week or so I've noticed that, regardless of how much or little you earn, it brings up the same results.
This sudden disregard for someone's ability to pay is surely grossly irresponsible, or else it's a sign of desperation in the mortgage market.
Why does Martin continue to link to the site, when it no longer takes salary into account?
We should be told!!!!

Lenders want their products listed - and criteria can change depending on some many factors
although if site implies its checks criteria, then they some change that
As well as checking various sites, I use one of the industry systems and have to admit when sourcing a deal will input high salaries , so no product ( with stricter criteria) is excluded from research.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
But now according to that site, I can take out, for example, a £500000 mortgage even though I have declared earnings of just £5000, or even £1000.
Up until a few weeks ago it took income into account. now it doesn't. I smell a rat. Or desperation.0 -
Or perhaps there is simply a programming bug?0
