Virgin Money Regular Saver interest

Options
So the swathes of RS lots of us have should have their interest paid on the 11th of March.

This isn't showing in of my accounts yet.

Looking at last years statements it states it was paid on the 11th March (a Saturday).

Can anyone remember if it was actually paid on the 12/03/17 or 13/03/17 and just backdated to the 11/03/17?

I suspect its the weekend date that's causing the delay but wondered if anyone could remember from last year?

I doubt you would see it on a Sunday.
"Annual interest is paid on 11 March and will be available the next working day"

It will show tomorrow (12th March), with today's date (11th March).

It's the same with monthly interest. Paid on the 10th, but doesn't show online until the 11th.
  • Now showing.
  • Very odd. I'm still carrying debit balances on E-RS 2 and E-RS 3 after double payment of interest on maturity, followed by interest adjustment, The debit balances have doubled overnight.

Virginmoney seem unable to sort out their IT gremlins. Not impressive as hoped the recent work done the other weekend when the system was closed down might sort these problems. Will they ever get things running correctly???????

My interest is showing even though the maturity date is in April.

If I continue with April's payment (March's is in uncleared transactions) will there be more interest or is it just as well to close the account once the uncleared payment is cleared?

You should continue your payments. There are 2 dates when interest is paid, 11th of March for interest accrued to date and account maturity for the remainder

Thanks, that's helpful. I won't close the account. Just closed the MatchDay saver and got the M&S RS closing shortly too. Now have to find homes for the monies.
  • My maturity date is 20th December, if I move my money just after this date will I still receive my interest in March 2019?
