Switching Bank - Will past Bankruptcy Come Up?

Will possibly be switching current account to either Nationwide or Santander and am wondering if anyone has any experience of switching accounts to these as a past/discharged bankrupt (now eight years for me)

Will the question of a past bankruptcy be asked does anyone know?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for your reply - I was aware that the bankruptcy was on ones credit file history for 6 years but what I really wanted to know was if anyone knew if they ask the question so to speak 'have you ever been bankrupt' - obviously I would answer yes but would prefer to know beforehand prior to any credit search appearing on my credit file.

I believe once you're past the 6 year mark the only time you ever need to 'fear' the ghost of bankruptcy is indeed when anyone asks you that question. That said, I doubt they will ask (I recently opened a bank account and nowhere in the terms or questions was bankruptcy past or present mentioned). Even if they do ask I doubt they will care - you probably have a shining credit record now so they will happily give overdraft facilities etc?
