Help needed for Ist time online Tesco Groceries

Options
Hi all, I need some help with my first online groceries shopping with Tesco that I hope to make this weekend.

Is it best to use the Tesco site itself or something like the "mysupermarket" website and link my account?
Are there any hints that would help me get the most out of shopping online? Just to be clear, I've shopped for other items online for many years with Amazon, Tesco direct etc its just the weekly groceries is a "first" for me.

Thanks for any advice offered and I realise I'm a bit late getting to the online groceries party:o

I usually choose a time when the delivery is £1. Check all their offers but mainly when the offer expires, it’s easy to get caught out by missing the end of the offer by choosing a delivery date one day too late.

Also I tend to have pages open whilst on the Tesco site eg hotukdeals and this one to see what offers others find.

Another thing I tend to order online when I’m paying for delivery is heavy items and bulky things like washing powder and toilet rolls.

I appreciate the delivery man carrying it all in and unloading on the kitchen table. Oh, remember to tick no bags and for items you don’t want substitutions. I’ve always been lucky with the item being substituted for larger packs of the same item.

I've never had a Tesco driver refuse to bring it inside to the kitchen, I do ask though it's not automatic. I then unload myself.

I find paying the bag charge makes unloading much quicker. And of course I re-use the bags :)

Thanks Pjran so much for the full and helpful answer. Just to check so you use the tesco site and NOT mysupermarket? :T

Yes I use the Tesco site.

Also check the other sites in case there are some discount codes and occasionally there’s a couple of free item codes too on new products. I’ll also do an online shop when they have 25% off wine:beer: makes life easier than carrying shopping to the car and unloading. Plus I arrange delivery for when my husbands home so he puts it all away :rotfl:

Usually there's a 'first time shopper' discount available. Or, think of a query ring them, say you're a 1st timer - with luck they'll send you an ecoupon.
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

I take it you know what mysupermarket does, it will show you where the cheapest shop is. If you want to use Tesco then just go via Tesco.com.
