How long is a piece of string Q HSBC Remortgage

I have just received my offer from HSBC to re-mortgage over to them from Santander.
Does anyone have any experience on how long this now takes. I have sent back the Mortgage Deed Forms to their acting solicitors but they say they cant tell me how long it will take.
Has anyone similar experience of this. Are we talking a couple of weeks or a couple of months does anyone know please?
