Christmas Present idea - homemade DVD of my son for all the family?

I've had the idea of making dvds of my son whose 2 in Dec for all his nans & grandads (there are LOADS!) None of them have seen the film of when he was 1st born (I am not including the birth! :rotfl: ) and those who live far away have missed alot.

Anyway I was wondering the best way (&cheapest!) way I can do this!
The films are already on my computer, but will the dvds I make work on all Dvd players? Where can I get good quality inexpensive Dvds? I'll want 7+ of 1hr? Maybe 2? I don't want them getting bored but if its in chapters they don't have to watch it all at once!

Many thanks and I hope some1 finds this a good idea for themselves!

  • Sorry I can't help with making the dvds but as you are wanting so few disks I think I would be tempted to get them from the poundshop if you have one near you, in ours we get 2 or 3 in a pack for £1.
  • Perhaps I should post on the Techie board? I reckon I could do all the editing with no problem, its just the discs I'm unsure of. I'm going near a poundland next week so will pop in and look.

For each of our children's 21st we made a vidoe / DVD for them from when they were babies to their 21st. It gives them great fun and laughter watching it with their friends and family! I think it is a brilliant idea for you to give to the grandparents. Perhaps you could add a painting of his hands and feet to go with it?
