Today was only my third day of work and I was last out, as I was rushing I think I forgot to clock-out, the store is closed now so what should I do? Should I phone tomorrow, wait until I work again or just ignore it (does the machine turn off when the store closes?)? Thanks!

How long is it til you work again? When you go in ask your supervisor to sign your card and put what time you left.Halifax-Limit-£500-Balance-£0

At my last job we had cards that you clocked in with that recorded your time on and if you missed it say at lunch you could get the supervisor to sign it and time it. I don't know about electronic ones.Halifax-Limit-£500-Balance-£0

I run an electronic swipe card system at my place of work. If a member of staff forgets to swipe their card then there is a sheet that they need to fill in to declare this, this is then countersigned by their manager, if this isnt completed then they would not be paid for the hours they didnt swipe for. Obviously your payroll department might be different.
I would suggest that if you are able to go back to the store tomorrow then do so and see your supervisor/manager to ask them what you need to do. If you are weekly paid then leaving it until Monday may be too late.Happy riding on two or three"We're not complete idiots, we do have some parts missing!" :doh:0 -
I forget to clock out sometimes and i get paid for it, i do tell my manager that i didnt clock out on that day and he says dont worry bout it, but surely if they know oyu clocked in at X time lets say u started at 9 and you went at 6 but u forgot 2 clock out then would it matter since you were listed as being down for a 9-6 so you'll get paid for that day,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Thats fine if you did finish your shift but how do the payroll department know what time you finished at? I have cases of staff not clocking because they went home sick (and I wouldnt expect them to worry about clocking off if they not feeling well) Then of course it could be you worked more than your contracted hours.... It would be better for the op to contact his/her supervisor just to find out what their company procedures are.Happy riding on two or three"We're not complete idiots, we do have some parts missing!" :doh:0 -
Where i work we have a schedule with the start and finish time for each day that we work so personnel know what time i finished, for the OP it may different,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

We used to have a electronic swipe system and it was linked to a payroll system. All managers have an override option to change the times prior to the payroll commencing.
So, it's work asking. Electronic systems are there to give more options to the management of them rather than the old punch ins.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
