More worrying is the absence of company pension contributions. Can you find any earler payslips? Some pension schemes didn't permit contributions over State pension age.
mum was already 60 in june earlier that same year so guess thats why cat c ni, as dad was still 63 so under 65 at this point0 -

ive just found his final two handwritten pay statements january 97 final salary and redundancy payment - NI is on there but no mention of category but it is about 10% ish figure - only deductions are NI and paye0 -
