Terrific progress. Is there any better retirement gift than a paid off mortgage? Well done on your other goals as well.Mortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00
Mortgage end date Dec 2045 - NOT!!!!
Mortgage balance - $4600.00
Business Savings $43,310/100k
Hope to be mortgage-free by end of 20231 -
Thankyou LeighofMar. It is the one gift I have really worked at for myself.
I am overpaying £53.61 this month leaving me with a total overpayment this year of £354.84. I am not needing to support my brother now as he is back at work and I have rebalanced financially since going part time. I am even managing to save a good chunk monthly into a regular saver.
I haven't sold much on Flebay or anywhere else this month and I haven't earned anything either doing surveys etc. The weather has been too good to be stuck inside.
I still think I will be able to pay off the mortgage by April just after I retire so fingers crossed nothing else gets in my wayWife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. #87 checking in Another £57.62 paid off this month so a grand total of £412.46/£2300
Another slow month but hope things will be better when DD goes back to Uni and I can get back on the decent computer.
Just been given a load of stuff which I estimate to sell at about £100 altogether. I have a lot more to go than that. I can't wait for it to clear.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Thankyou beanielou. The decluttering is great. As soon as DD goes back to uni I can really get suck in again. I need her room for the to go stuff unstead of the landing.
I just fixed my sewing machine so I can get on with making some stuff for crimble and I am making blankets for babies in Africa. My African friend tells me newborns die of hypothermia than anything else. I have fleece fabric, knitted squares I was given and more. Looking forward to seeing the space become available too so a win win.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Another month has flown by and I have been busy clearing out big stuff. i have sold an old car and a motorbike. The money I am holding onto in case a lockdown occurs where my brother lives and he has to stop working again. I want to avoid touching savings this time.
I overpaid another £56.02 to the mortgage and hope to pay off a chunk by the end of the year but we will have to see, depends on family need as above. Total overpayments for 2020 £468.48.
Just been away for a week but didn't spend all of my budget so going to put that towards my next hols in Croatia next year, fingers crossed.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. The last few months have flown by with lots going on and sometimes not. i have managed to keep up the moneysaving efforts despite low mood and fatigue 9 and I haven't even had covid)
2021 is THE YEAR that I have been waiting for for so long. 1o years ago I started planning retirement at 55 and the paying off of my mortgage. In that time I have gone from over £50,000 to the current total of approximately £17500. It would have been gone by now but life has got in the way but I am still thrilled to have got this far with the end in sight. I have paid big lumps and small amounts from Tilly Tidies.
I have learnt so much on this site. Scouring the MFW threads, debt free wannabe threads and the old style boards for inspiration and support. In fact until I had discovered this site I had no idea you could even overpay your mortgage.
So I retire in March but will pay the mortgage off probably at the end of April. I am trying not to get too excited as anything could change.
I will be in again soon........................................................Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor.
