Credit check before completion?

So here we are waiting to exchange and complete.
We had 28th of February as a completion date but didn't happened. On the day we received a text from our lender saying the funds are ready. Solicitor called to stop them. The new date for completion is 7th of March but we didn't exchange yet so I don't believe we will complete by then. The bad weather etc. I know out solicitor called the lender again already as they need to know 5 days in advance before completion.
So my question is Are they doing credit check every time the purchase is postponed?
Because I notice that the credit score drops every time someone makes hard check so I am a bit worried about them checking too many times.
And also we have credit cards that we pay in full every month. We are waiting for the new monthly statement to come out. Doesn't allow me to pay the full amount before that.
Is that a problem before completion?

No. The credit scores are made up, so you can file them alongside your horoscopes.
You can pay your credit card at any time, but no need to be concerned if you are consistently clearing it0 -
It's also very likely that when the new mortgage account shows up, your score will also drop(big new loan). I think the mortgage lender at this stage would need a better reason than your score dropping to pull out now(especially if only thing affecting score is searches they are making).0
