Mortgage application and Sick pay

Hi all,
I really hope someone can help me!
We went through our mortgage application and the lenders have requested 2 years worth of proof of income, commission and overtime from both of us. Neither of us having been in our current jobs for 2 years. My partner has been in his since Jan 2017 and I started here in July 2017. We were both fully employed before this elsewhere.
In January i received a months sick pay following a knee operation i had to have. Our mortgage adviser is looking around for another mortgage but because of the sick pay, we are being told we do not meet affordability anymore. I am now back at work and still received my commission and statutory sick pay while off.
In April, it wont make a blind bit of difference so they only work out affordability based on the last three months.
We had an offer accepted on a house we love so we haven't got 3 months to play with.
If anyone can offer some advice it will be much appreciated.
