I wonder if there is actually a buyer waiting in the wings. Make staff redundant at Maplin's cost and not reduce stock too much by flogging it off cheap making a much better proposition to buy when the time is right.

Na, their offerings are over priced and they have been forced out the business by online sellers at half their prices.

I like Maplins but haven't bought anything from them for a few years now because the value just isn't there anymore.

I can't see them recovering and they won't be the last to go.

I agree with other Posts. As I am into IT anything, I'd expect Maplins to be a shop I'd love to go into a browse around but they just didn't seem to stock what would interest me, too many cheap imports ( in the sense of not reliable, still not cheap compared to others) and all too highly priced.

As you may be aware Maplin has gone into administation, shops are closing in batches of 50 with the first 50 closed at the beginning of April (according to staff).

Discounts of between 20% and 50% are available in all stores, but not that exciting as the things that have 50% tend to be rarely wanted.

The Maplin Website lists the discounts of up to 70% and says prices shown reflect those discounts but when I checked the items I found the RRP elsewhere did NOT match the promised 70%.

It says everything must go, but does not say whether it must be sold or sent back to the warehouse.

If anyone see greater reductions than 50% please post here and mention what product types were offered at that above that level.

Hi, I bought a camera at Maplin, in December 2017. It got a fault 2 days ago. I took it to Maplin yesterday and they are refusing to refund and told me to inform the manufacturers. I'm sure my rights are with Maplin, but as they are in administration they say there are no refunds available. Is this true or should I stand my ground? I've read the updated refund policy!

Was actually good advice, there would have been a notice on the entrance telling you they are in administration.

Any goods bought in the crap discount sale have same issue.

Maplin are gone, if you have a warranty dispute you have to get in line with all their other creditors

So if the Manufacturer will help you consider yourself lucky!
