Jojo, I love those ideas. I used to be a music teacher and am a published author (not famous!!!) so those two particularly seem appropriate for me!
You're free of rehearsals with bored Year 7s that don't want to be in the choir but want a day off lessons, so turn up and annoy you anyway, only deigning to shout tunelessly when told they would be sent back to double maths if they didn't buck their ideas up sharpish? I'm jealous.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Gold and metallic acrylic paint is really useful in abstracts, especially dark coloured ones. There are also some interesting mediums to mix with paint - check out Golden. Youtube is full of useful ideas for painting.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0

i quite like that, might have to give something similar a try.
last year I found a lovely scroll type written bible sheets in a charity shop. now i'm not a religious person, I just liked the way they were written. I tore down the pages an inch wide and stuck over a sheet of wallpaper, giving a sort of striped effect. it sounds odd but looks pretty, I was very pleased.0 -

I tried some free tutorials by Amanda Evanston on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/amanda_evanston/?hl=en tutorials in her stories) painting pears and daffodils. Not painted since school, and found it so accessible I bought one of her online courses. After week one I painted this, and while it won't win prizes, I kind of love it.
But if you don't want to stump for the course, pear and daffodils are loads of fun too0 -

I think it's stunning. If I saw that in a gallery, I'd be impressed!!!!0 -

I got my paints out yester and had fun!
I chose / made up several greens, a very dark navy and used some white and some of the yellow to paint a canvas with a rough paint brush that had been bought for decorating! I liked the colours and the brush strokes but it was fairly 'flat'. I did use heavy body acrylics for some texture
I took an old bangle, placed it on the wet paint and used a spoon handle to drag a circle in the wet paint within the bangle. I did 3 of these circles. I than applied size inside the circles and added 'gold' leaf. I used it sparingly on the first circle, but added more to the second and lots to the third.
Finally I splattered 'size' on the canvas, fairly sparingly, and dotted flecks of gold leaf on. I am looking at it now and considering adding a very few tiny flacks of contrasting colour (red is calling to me!).
timehastoldme, I LOVE THAT PICTURE :T
!I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0
