Choosing the Right Broker

Hello,
I'm fairly new to this site.
Any tips on how to choose the right broker? Myself and the husband have a fairly complex case (poor credit history)
No CCJ's , or bankruptcy. However I had a few unsecured defaults registered back in 2012/2013. Most of which will leave my credit file this year. Not to mention the default on the mortgage 24 months ago.
We have a high joint income £102,000 a year. Childcare costs seems to hurt us on the affordability calculators, even though our youngest starts school next year and childcare costs are not forever, these are still taken into account...
Anyway I'm rambling now...
We really need a broker that is familiar with specialist lenders, and can assist this us with a seamless application.
Any advice on how to find a good broker. Looking on the unbiased website, just gives us a list of local brokers...
Any tips welcome.
Budget is circa £1k for advice and application.

I don!!!8217;t think anyone is allowed to directly advertise somone on this forum.
Usually a google search is sufficient. Read the reviews. My broker charged £350 but was worth the weight in gold. Think you need to find one that specialises in adverse credit.
Either that or speak to friends / relatives and go off recommendations. X0 -
Unbiased...the lead generation site that puts brokers who pay at the top - it still makes me wonder how they get away with calling themselves unbiased.
There are 2 issues, adverse and affordability by the sounds of it and the 2 do not usually go well together. I would probably concentrate on finding a broker that specialises in adverse and they confirm what you can get Mortgage wise, if it does not work then it might just be a case of holding fire until closer the time when the childcare stops.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
