I am sat here with some spare time clicking through the main competition threads and can cover several pages in minutes with little x meaning I haven't entered since I don't enter: FB TW INST GLEAM DAILY etc competitions...
I miss the good old days when I could pop my trusted postcard 2nd class or stuck down envelope and would have a lovely win most weeks....
Do most here miss though days or an I alone... do people like the ease of TW FB etc comps and the 'modern way'?
I realise I might win more if I entered the social media ones but find social media quite depressing - I get sidetracked easily... :rotfl::rotfl:

Having comped for many years, I have to agree.
Comping used to be quite straightforward - go to website, answer question, sorted! These days the same prize can be listed on a company's website, Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
The Mags Daily comps usually offer 1 prize, running with several magazines, which can be entered daily. Some Rafflectopters and Gleam competitions are endless to complete.
Although there seem more competitions to enter, in my case, wins are fewer!
When my children were younger, through the year I would win so many toys, there would be a massive big stocking full of items for everyone.0 -

Thanks Cornish, I do enter some of those... what I meant was 30 years ago there were hundreds of postals ... yep it cost a bit in postage but the wins were worth it0 -

Totally agree Libra, I used to win loads of smaller prizes and have a stash for Christmas and Birthday presents... was great... oh dear I sound so old :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Those were the days!
No captchas either!0 -
I miss the days when the internet was quite new - my parents were early-adopters so I used to enter internet comps all the time and won loads. It was much simpler too, no multiple sites to go to, dailies, click to wins, social media. Some of the best prizes I ever won were back then.0

Oh how I agree I won so many postcard competition and magazine competitions where you had to buy the magazine and fill in a form. For some I decorated the envelope or card and know that that made me the winner because I was told so .Best one was a trip to the Christmas market from the Scottish Field Magazine. We won so many things from this magazine in the distance past. I won a trailer tent from an entry form picked up in Asda . It was for dog food so my poor cat had to eat one tin of it and my slogan was " Feeding dogs the Asda way means more to eat and less to pay " At the time Barbra Woodhouse had a TV programme called "training dogs the Woodhouse way "I got three LWE on the day this winner arrived.
Take A Break and That's Life used to have a star prize of a car every week . Prizes are so much less in value now. I have really given up now I just dabble a bit after winning holidays to Ibiza , Iceland , Hawaii , Heidelberg and countless weekend breaks in the past. I have had fair share of prizes but these days there is so much competition.0 -
it's changed since I started comping -7 years ago there were loads of comps on websites now it seems to be mainly on facebook, twitter etc which are much easier to cheat at. Prizes seem to be smaller on the wholeproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

Ah I remember the days of trying to fill in my name and address in ballpoint pen on a plastic product wrapper
Things have certainly changed over the years.0 -
I used to like it on here when things were taken less seriously and you could have a bit of a conversation once in a while without being shouted at for bumping threads. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
