Hi Foxgloves, hope your nephew recovers quickly its a worry with the NHS being in such a state but it seems as if they have got to the root of the problem. I have just spent a very productive time writing a "to do" list as long as my arm, am going to choose tasks each morning - well thats the plan!! it will depend very much on weather and mood as I seem to have had trouble finding my motivation. Have a good week and thanx for the motivational posts they are much appreciated - as you see they do work x6

@Onebrokelady - I will admit that I was similar, back in the day, but a bad experience with an appalling big provider made me sit up & take notice, start number crunching exactly how much they were ripping me off by before leaving & finding another. I've taken notice of it ever since. As you say, it does sometimes take something to trigger a change of habit x
@Four_Seasons - You'll find that as you get items crossed off your list, your motivation will grow. If there are jobs which seem daunting, just set the kitchen timer & do them for an hour. Or another method is to decide that you will do as many things as possible while dinner is in the oven or that you are going to put 10, 20 or 30 things away. My motivation does sometimes need a boost, but I find there's nothing less motivating than sitting on the sofa fretting about all the stuff I need to do. I'm much better once I'm up & at it.

Congratulations on your missing carrots!!
Foxgloves, that's an excellent winter plan! We are doing similar things (although I hadn't bundled it all together in one plan) - sorting out the house to be warmer, and we've started putting our emergency kit together after last November's 4 days without electric, 6 days without heating fiasco 🙄 We'll be much better prepared in the hopefully unlikely event that happens again!7 -
@BlueJ94 - Hey, fantastic carrots! Just shows that things do want to grow, even if the planter forgets about them, lol.
@Cheery_Daff - Thanks. It's been bothering me, so I decided to write it out as a plan.
Can you remember the power-cuts in the 1970s? You may well be younger than me, idk. I was a child at the time but can clearly remember them. They were quite exciting to a child (doubtless not to my parents) - the best one I remember was playing dolls' hairdressers on the lounge floor surrounded by foam hair curlers, bowls of water, combs & brushes by candlelight.

I can remember doing a carol concert by candlelight at my primary school in the 70s during power cuts. Elf and safety wouldn’t allow it nowadays.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4
