I never seem to find any good clothes in charity shops, so have to second hand shop online instead. I do love a second hand bookshop though and the one I went into today was great - I got three really good quality, popular, barely used large kids books (one hardback) for £4. Wouldn’t even get one new for that!2025 decluttering: 3,993🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

They were a good find, @QueenJess. I don't find many clothes at all in charity shops, but there has been the occasional lucky strike. I think I enjoy the anticipation of the hunt really. It feels a bit like beachcombing.......well without the sea air, fab views, seaside flora & fauna & holiday vibe, of course.
I must get cracking. If I don't have a decent list of achievements for tonight's diary post, you all have my permission to take me to task. Laundry already on, rubber chicken is next.....

Another one here who stuggles to find much in charity shops - although the one exception to this is EmmAndEss stretchy t-shirt style tops which I do surprisingly often manage to find seemingly totally unworn! The one I have on today is actually a CS find from a few years back.
Hope your rubber chickening went well - I've got some of that to do at some stage in the next day or so!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hello m'dears,
Busy productive day. Feel like a proper old crock now though, collapsed out in the sofa with Soot on my lap. Today I have:
*Done my regular Monday morning budget updates & shifted funds around to keep the various pots straight. Paid CC off in full & pondered what best to do with the government council tax rebate.
*Fitted all this week's laundry into 2 loads, line dried for free & only ironed the few items which needed it.
*Fed sourdough jar ready for baking tomorrow.
*Dealt with Grimsby fish box - all divvied up, labelled & frozen except for some which I poached ready for tomorrow's batch cooking session.
*Rubber chicken duties - it had already done s roast & cold chicken, chips & salad. Divvied up leftovers to make fajhitas tonight, a chicken & sweetcorn mayonnaise sarnie for tomorrow's packed lunch plus some frozen for stew. Gribbly bits in slow cooker made 3 cartons of stock.
*Began hardening off outdoor tomato plants though it was a bit too windy for their first day.
*Potted chilli plants into their final containers.
*Watered greenhouse & young plants waiting to go out into borders.
*Did a couple of surveys
*Litter/rubble picked new front flower bed prior to getting the compost/topsoil/chopped comfrey mix onto them at the weekend.
*Knitted more Christmas present hiking sock over my lunch break.
*Planned what I'm going to batch cook tomorrow.
*Entered a competition.
Have enjoyed my busy day but reckon I'll be early in bed tonight.
Talk to you tomorrow,
F x

I’ve also had a productive day. Wasn’t it a fantastic drying day in our neck of the woods today?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

I hope you don’t mind if I follow your
diary🙂 I’m loving your approach to everything and am learning a few things. I don’t have a diary myself but love reading the different journeys.

@Sun_Addict - Yes, laundry was dry in no time, even big thick towels. All these small energy savings will help us build up credit for autumn & winter.
@Kitchenbunny - You're welcome! We like a discussion on here, so do feel free to join in if anything interests you. I like your strapline about "a little security in an insecure world". I think that is so important in these very worrying times. All we can really do is shore ourselves up as best we can to try & weather it out.

My dad thinks I am a bit weird as first sign of a sunny breezy day my first thought is shall I strip the beds! Which I did yesterday and changed to the summer quilt and had the best nights sleep in ages having stayed relatively cool all night. I am so easily pleased these days8
