Hi everyone. Exhausted again. J went back in hospital Sunday when him and S were on respite. He's back home again today. Another Dialaition done again. Soft food diet. Another one in a months time. Hope we get through Christmas OK with him. Hubby has fitted our LVT flooring in the kitchen. He now has to do the hall way floor and back lobby. That will be in the new year now. Ive done washing and ironing constantly( well thats how it feels) finished a few more cards, just got to put the verses in tomorrow. Had a quote for 5 windows 1 door and side panel. Will pay the deposit when we get paid next week, roughly 8 weeks till they will be done. Thats fine as I can have the rest saved up by then. Might get Christmas 🎄 up this weekend not putting ceiling decs up but will put the Christmas Village bits out etc. Got new lights to put up outside when hubby has time and energy to do it. I keep forgetting he is 65 now. 🤣. Time to read my book for a bit. Hope you've all had a good day. Keep Safe XMortgage free September 2021. Narrowboat brought October 2021

Ladyholly - Lol at you being a fellow magnet for weirdos! I'm not going out much at the moment, so they must all be having to amuse themselves!
Pixiehouse55 - Yes, those 8 weeks will pass quickly & the extra 'saving up' time will be useful.

Hello Frugal Friends,
I thought I'd better put a post on or you'll be thinking I've run off with a van man..... not that I am considering any such elopement, more that delivery drivers are pretty much our only visitors these days!
I felt rubbish all of yesterday. I woke with a cracking headache & nothing would shift it. It did lessen after some codiene, but as soon as that wore off, bang, it was back. I soaked the Christmas cake fruit, then put the tree up in the evening to cheer myself up. It does look so pretty & it's lovely to be able to decorate it with my Mum's handmade decorations.
A much better day today. Car passed its MOT. Cost of test covered by service plan, only cost to us is replacement wiper blades & brake fluid change. Car Maintenance Pot will more than cover that. I made bread & the Christmas cake & while it was baking, I did meal plans for the rest of the month. I'd already planned Dec 24th to Jan 2nd plus all of this week, so it was just a case of filling in 14th to 23rd. I've done that by prioritising what we have already, esp in the freezer. Tonight was a 'use-it-up' pasta bake which shifted two freezer containers plus a decent wodge of rather elderly pasta from my original no-deal Brexit stash.
The only other little financial thing raised a smile..... for dull reasons I won't go into, Mr F didn't have a packed lunch today, but was going to a different area for which I still have a rarely used Co-op card. I gave it to him & said if he went in for a sandwich, to see if there were any points on it & to use them. Well, he is a man pleased by simple things, apparantly there was £3.83 on that card so he had a cheap packet of 'Pigs in blankets' sandwiches!
Oh, & I did the ironing. So a better day all round.... just so nice to wake up & realise that the headache had finally gone.
Cleaning day tomorrow but I think I might try & whizz round really early so as to reclaim the day for myself.
Take care m'dears. Be safe. Lots of idiots out there..... including a whole heap of them who seem to think covid droplets are exuded from..... chins!

Glad to hear your headache has gone.Mr Fs sandwich sounds tasty even though I couldn't actually eat it. I think seeing people being stupid about the virus is what's annoyed me more than anything, I was so careful but still ended up catching it and these idiots are parading round without a care in the world and probably getting away with it 😡Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,12010

Glad you are feeling better. Another weirdo magnet here (or are we the weirdos????). But maybe that really was the Queen Mother's sister who sat next to me on the number 22 bus 😏. She did say that she was in disguise .... she certainly didn't smell like I'd expect a member of the Royal family to smell like 😷9

I have to say that there has been a great improvement in the number of people wearing masks in my area, I hardly ever see anyone without one in the shops now. That said, I agree that they not always worn properly but most are. I'm just dreading the pubs reopening as our village tends to be a go to place for evenings out and much as the pubs try to impose social distancing, that results in a queue outside where nobody seems to have heard of it. Businesses are mostly trying their hardest but I worry that Boris will pen the pubs when he does is review just to keep the voters happy. Needless to say if he does I won't be going.CC1 Aug19 [STRIKE]£7587.85[/STRIKE] Aug 20 £0

Oh dear, Blackcats.......yes, I once had a similar experience with someone who thought he was Elvis Presley. Although many years ago, I remember feeling like the weirdo myself once, when some pants flew out on the bus.
Dottles1 - It really does vary in our town. Some people are very careful, keep their distance etc, even if it means waiting for others to pass, but others are not nearly as vigilant & will come right up to you. We were queuing the other day & Mr F reminded the woman behind us she needed to keep 2 m away in case we were infected. He really doesn't usually step in like that - it would generally be me, but he said he can't see the point in being so vigilant with his staff & the general public at work, then risking picking up the virus from something as basic as people not being able to manage a socially distanced queue.

I don't know where today has gone! Well, I do, I suppose. I've been having some leisure time this afternoon & the hours have simply shot by. Why can't ironing time pass as quickly? There is clearly something wrong with the laws of physics!
Hello diary readers,
A very domesticated morning, as Friday is my big weekly cleaning day. Mr F was working from home today, so I lent him my HQ as it has a desk, on the proviso that I could vacuum in there before he got started. That meant I was off to a really good early start & had finished all the cleaning plus emptied the bins & tidied by 11.30a.m (including a coffee break). I did an hour of piano practice before lunch, then I've had the afternoon to myself. A bit too soggy underfoot to go outside for some much needed gardening, but I did pop out to distribute today's allocation of mealworms. Unfortunately, our robin was busy dealing with an overly large worm on our front doormat, so I think he missed out on today as the starlings were out in force.
I've started my next library book - 'You let me in' by Lucy Clarke, which looks suitably creepy for tucking up by the fireside. Postie brought a proper good bundle this morning - 6 Christmas cards, a long letter from an old friend & work colleague & a Christmas edition of 'Country Living' mag gifted to me by my sis as we both like to pass magazines on.....even better, when I opened the paddibag, two little chocolate reindeers fell out, so that was afternoon coffee sorted.
Mr F's cooking night, so I think I will close all the curtains, switch on the Christmas tree lights, light a few tealights & curl up with my book. Oh, & I think I'll fetch a few baking books, as I need to bake a birthday cake soon & I want to look at portable options, as it will be coming along on a trip out to meet our best friends where we will attempt to share it out from a 2m distance. I shall cut it, then stand back & say 'Help yourselves'.
Anyway, let's get on & shut out the night,
Love to all,

Well done Mr F, I think we all need to stand up for ourselves with social distancing and if the person doesn't like it tough !!
