Lol, HHoD. I can be a bit of a sarky acerbic devil, but I rarely lose my temper. When I do (& it has been thus since childhood), it is the Full Theatrics. At work, I'm pleased to say I only lost it once. I think it must have been quite entertaining because I could see the clerical staff who were in the room at the time keeping their heads down, but trying not to laugh! The good thing is that it is over almost as quickly as it starts.
I do have some Fenbid Forte gel which was prescribed for my tendonitis & arthritic thumb joint pain, but I think I'd need to bath in it to cover all the areas which have been jarred by this afternoon's incident......I've just got up off the sofa to let cat out & couldn't believe how stiff everything is now feeling. The hot water bottle is helping my back though, so I think I will take one to bed with me.
Yes, I think it is a bit of a male response. I shouted at him "I'm on the bleep floor!! How can you think this is a good time to start bleep interrogating me?! I'm the victim here for bleep's sake!! I haven't tripped anyone up with a bleep killer rug! It's me that's on the bleep floor!!" It didn't help that it happened so very quickly & was a shock. I was shaky afterwards. I'm fine now, just starting to feel very stiff. And I do always feel cross with myself when I've lost my temper big-time, but it is a character trait which will probably never leave me after so many years. It's like a storm at sea. Spectacular while it lasts, but blows out quickly.

Hope you sleep well tonight and that you aren't too achy in the morning. I had a little prang in my car once, entirely my fault and I felt very foolish. OH asked me a 101 questions about what had happened, what had I been thinking, why had I reversed into the post???? Obviously I hadn't planned and thought through a deliberate reverse into a flipping post had I? OH said that he was just trying to understand how I had done it. I replied that I had put the car in reverse, and reversed without properly looking over my shoulder until I hit the post when I put on the brake and stopped reversing.

Ooh Foxgloves take care. Arnica cream and arnica homeopathic tablets really do help

I had a very nasty fall a couple of years ago. In fact that’s how I discovered I have osteoporosis as I fractured a vertebra. I was hurrying, caught my foot, went down on hands and knees but the forward momentum continued and the crown of my head slammed into a doorpost. I felt the shockwave go down my back and explode just above my waist

I was shrieking with pain and shock. DH told me I was dripping blood from the top of my head - on the carpet!

    Ah well, we both lived
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
  • Oh my Foxgloves, what a terrible shock for you. Please look after yourself. I do however feel like we've had a very good insight into both yours and mr F's personality in your posts today.

Thank goodness he was home though, it could have been a lot worse.

    Wish.

Oh poor you Foxgloves. You are in the right place, on the sofa with cat and water bottle. Aside from the aches and pains it's the shock that takes some getting over isn't it? I've always felt I was invincible until a coupe of years ago. I don't seem to bounce like I used to :)
Take care, It sounds as if Mr F is looking after you, make the most of it.

My OH would have checked that the cupboards and work tops where fine before he remembered me. Then would have mumbled whether I was ok. Hope you have a good night sleep and not too sore in the morning.x

Thanks all of you for the sympathy - much appreciated.

Blackcats - Yes, re the car prang, that is exactly the sort of question I would be asked, too. Also, any IT problem experienced by me (Mr F is a bit of a tech boffin) elicits the question 'What have you pressed?' It drives me mad, as it implies that every single tech meltdown which happens in our house (mostly caused by old equipment which is no longer compatible with other gizmos/systems) happens because I have pressed a the wrong key! To be fair, he has managed not to say this for quite a while. I think the increasing short shrift he was getting every time he DID say it, was starting to send a very unambiguous message!
