Thanks, HHoD - Just a little teeny tiny celebration with some nice pizza from our favourite little indie pizza place, but at the weekend, I intend to treat myself to a bottle of my current favourite gin & I've told the Beloved he can choose a bottle of single malt.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

Thanks, 1LL. I think I'm still a bit in shock that it has gone, to be honest, but very very thankful.

Thanks, Dawn. The next stage will be looking after our key asset by getting some quotes for essential building work. I have absolutely not the faintest idea how much it is all likely to cost, but 'needs must' as they say.

Congratulations - so pleased for you and Mr F. Probably a good thing that it had to get done quickly so you couldn't over think it.

Thanks, Blackcats. Yes, you are right because I can be a massive overthinker at times. I'd have spent ages researching additional savings options too, but the building society advisor really explained how we could make our savings work better for our circumstances & so we felt confident setting those accounts up without our more usual several weeks of faffing around doing endless pros & cons.

Thanks, Amber. Yes, it's a weird feeling..... in a good way, of course, but definitely weird!
I'm sure I will feel more normal about it tomorrow.
