Help with a mortgage if I'm in a tied house

Hi. I am 52, married, live in Scotland. My job provides me with a tied house. We'd like to look at buying a house, never have owned one. We have a small deposit saved.we would be looking to buy and let it out until we retire. We have been told -
A - you cannot get help to buy or lift up from government as it would be a buy to let.
B - you can get some types of help as you are in tied accommodation.
Any concrete help would be greatly appreciated.

Speak to a mortgage broker for concrete advice.

I would buy it and live in the house - as you will have to rent/buy somewhere to live anyway.
