Interview notice - is there a legal requirement?

The company I work for is currently undergoing a major management restructure, making several positions obsolete. I have been notified that all management positions will have to be reapplied for, therefore I am aware there would be an interview at some point.
The question I have is: is there legally a minimum amount of notice my employer should give me as to when my interview will be held? I ask this because I have been told this morning, that my interview is this afternoon and therefore no time to prepare myself!
TIA.

Is everyone being given such short notice?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Yes, as far as I'm aware.0

Then its the same for everyone, no issue. Of course...you might get some people that will have planned for this - I'm waiting on a potential interview so am already organising my thoughts/approach.
Doesn't help you now though - good luck!0 -
What a dystopian world of over regulation that would be.:(
I’d personally be gleeful about a move like that. No time to worry and no expectations of a load of preparation. Perfect.0 -
Depends on the job. I remember hearing about a BBC reporters job where applicants were emailed at midnight and told to get to London for early in the morning. It was a test to see if they had to ability to react quickly. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
