Safe to eat?

Options
Hi

We had roast chicken for dinner last night and it was too hot to put the remainder straight into the fridge so I put it in the microwave to cool down. I have to do this because we have cats. Anyway, it was forgotten about and has been in the fridge all night till I just opened it to microwave some milk for coffee.

I was planning to make a broth with the rest of the chicken where you boil up the bones for a few hours with veg. Does anyone know if it will be safe to eat now bearing in mind it will be boiled for a couple of hours.

  • Please do not attempt to eat it. If you have a child, please test it on them first. Otherwise PM me and I will turn it into a curry!

    No child I am afraid but maybe the cat would like to try it.

    Then turn it into a curry! (I always leave our roast bird in the grill with door slightly ajar. our cat, Raffles, has not managed to enter this yet!

    I did once say that (in jest) at the beginning of my relationship with my OH when he asked if some meat I was planning to cook was 'OK to eat'.
    I said 'just let cat smell it and lick it and if she goes to eat it, it'll be fine'. :rotfl:

    So long as whatever you make with it is heated up hot enough to cook off the bugs, there shouldn't be a problem.

    Or you can seriously cosset your cat, but that has further risks as getting a cat to cooperate with a downshift challenge may not work out.

    If the cat scan is positive, it's almost certainly fine!

    The cat? :shocked::shocked::shocked:

    Please show some lenience, I'm sure it was an honest mistake :D
